Collective Violence/Social Movement of Student?

Lately, students' moral movement is rare transformed into a political movement, except for gain power. Student violence incident in the city of Makassar-South Sulawesi, has tarnished the world of education student height and existence. Student as part of community life, partisanship students in the interests of society do not use violent and disruptive means public interest. Violent action base students are ethical/moral values and reason, and it becomes a reference in every action the horns. Students have a need to self-actualization, and this manifests itself in the role of social life through his thinking and leadership in activities in the community. Violence run by students can be understood as strategy to win the battle between student/student group by line ethnic and ideological. can't be denied, there is a role from the local political context of the city of Makassar and national against the occurrence of acts of violence and student vandalism. Student violence tends to lead to struggle to achieve political and non-political goals thereby encouraging a struggle for struggle for power both in the campus arena and outside the campus.

Violent acts and student vandalism supported by availability political opportunity structure. Porta & Diani (2006) that in social movements there must be cooperation strategic relationship between action and actors with actors formal political institutions exist. The research data indicates that there are no movement actions stand-alone socio-political, there is an alliance between the actors in these violent acts and formal elite figures in government institutions (DPRD, executive). the elite on campus too open up opportunities for students to do violence. Student violence acts are the result of a network of informal interactions (political elites), involving the diversity of individuals, groups and/or organization. A network that can promote the framework of interpretation and circulation important resource for collective action. Then students enter into conflict situations (social, political, economic, and cultural). 

There's a chance politics, student actions can take place. Porta & Diani (2006) explain that the movement of social work can be successful if there is an opportunity politics, the context of accommodating problems social, and communication contexts that open possibilities for problem articulation and dissemination of ideas. Structure availability political opportunity is very important because without a structure opportunity is not possible strategic cooperation between actions and actors is established social movement with institutional actors formal politics. Therefore, the success of a social movement has to do with factors availability of influential alliances, tolerance for protest among the elite, the degree of openness or closed access to formal politics, degree of stability or instability of political alliances, availability of potential strategic cooperation, and political conflict between and in the elite.
